Makes Space Suits, Won't Travel is one of the Tasks in The Outer Worlds. Tasks are optional quests that players can chose to complete in order to obtain special rewards, XP, or reputation.

Byzantium's premiere fashion icon, Celeste Jolicoeur, has hired you to help her create the ultimate outfit, the perfect marriage of the chic and the shocking.

Makes Space Suits, Won't Travel Objectives

Makes Space Suits, Won't Travel Walkthrough

Speak to Celeste Jolicoeur in Prosperity Plaza of Byzantium and agree to help her to obtain this quest. Acquire Iconoclast Armor and Headpiece, Marauder Armor and Headpiece and Spacer Armor and Headpiece and model them for her.

When looking for these Armors look in the description of the Armor as it will tell you what type it is. You can find the description below the Mod Slots of the Armor. Note: Items that say "Spacer's Choice" will NOT work for this quest.

Example outfits:

These can be found at Amber Heights in Monarch from the salesman at the front gate, and At any of the Marauder along the way between Monarch and Terra 2

After modeling these for her, she'll ask you to gather some materials. The Primal Leather can be gained from the Primal Nest in Emerald Vale, or purchased from Stefan Garcia at the Botanical Lab. If you still need more, head to Scylla. Raptidon Flank Hide and Mantiqueen Chitin can be found on Monarch. You can also purchase these two things from Sebastian Adams in Stellar Bay.

When you return these materials to you, you gain 2,312 XP. You will then be tasked with retrieving a Lapel from the HPS. You will gain Writ of Consent that gives you the right to retrieve the item. Head there and speak to Olive Yates. She'll tell you to go to window B. Speak to Wanda Chen in window B to learn the parcel is already out for delivery.

Head to the nav marker in the Estates District and read the note left on the door to learn that the parcel is now back at the HPS, you'll get the HPS Delivery Unsuccessful quest item. Speak to Wanda Chen again and she'll tell you to head to window A. Speak with Olive in Window A and show her your verification to receive the parcel and the Gold Lapel quest item. Then head back to Celeste.

Alternatively, you can lockpick your way into the storage area behind the HPS and pick up Celeste's Parcel from the counter.

You'll find Guard Command and two Troopers standing over her corpse inside her shop. You'll find out that she was executed by the city guard for making illegal "subversive" clothing. The player has the option in dialog to attack these guards out of anger. Unusually, attacking and killing these three Guards will not turn the rest of the city hostile; even the other guards in Celeste's shop will not step in. However, this will cause you to gain 12% Negative Reputation with The Board. Choosing not to attack them will have them simply walk away from the premises.

Either way, discovering her execution will net you a further 2,312 XP. Loot her corpse to gain Celeste's Key. Inside her office you'll find Chimaera, a Unique Armor and the quest will conclude granting you a further 10,300 XP.

Iconoclast Apostle Armor and Apostle Helmet work. You only get those for completing quests for the Iconoclasts on Monarch.
For Marauder, the Overhauled Power Helmet will work. It's the one usually worn by Ringleaders and those carrying heavy guns. It goes well with the Retrofitted Heavy Power Armor.

There IS a shortcut to getting the lapel bit. If you have not visited Clarke, this can be a two-fer. Go to the back entrance to HPS, in the tunnel next to the elevator to the Maintenance Tunnels. One a shelf you will find Celeste's package and one for Minister Clarke. I have done this more than once, so it IS legit.

The title of the quest is an Easter egg. It is a play off of "Have Group, Will Travel," an ability that used to be in World of Warcraft.

The leather and chitin Celeste asks you to retrieve must be collected after she gives you that portion of the quest. The materials don't drop until then and appear as quest items.

Funny little Easter egg if you don't want to go hunting all over Monarch for Mantiqueen and Raptidon chitin and hides. Sebastian, the monster parts merchant in Stellar Bay, sells them. I think you can also purchase the Primate Hides from the Deserter merchant at the Deserter camp in Stellar Bay, but this may require that you pull the plug on the town so he's still around when you are doing this quest (?)

Day wear, option 1 and opti-goggles worked for the spacers outfit, you can buy then at the Groundbreaker near the engine room

I used “Day Wear, Option 2” and “Enclosed Padded Helm” for the Spacers outfit. List should be updated to include the Spacer body, and both Marauder pieces I used. For the Marauder’s outfit, I used “Cobbled Exo-Suit” and “Piecemeal Mining Helmet”. Finally, for Iconoclast, I used “Leaded Armor” and “Full Cranial Helmet”.

How to get both items for Spacer Outfit, quick and easy: 1) go to Groundbreaker, lower docks (elevateor in the middle), 2) kill captain Gunnar MacRedd (crazy gang leader with googles) 3) wear his clothes (Opti-Goggles, work gear vest level 7) it works, i've done it myself.

Not sure if a bug, but I wore the unique Iconoclast outfit and it seemed to satisfy Iconoclast and Spacer (I'd already done Marauder).

'Daywear, option 1' works for completing the spacer requirement, presumable all the other daywear variants may work as well.

To the person who made the wiki. It's not "spacer's choice" outfit, It's just "spacer". Padded helmet Aramid Ballistics and Streetwear Basic by Ports of Call will finish the spacer part.
