THE OUTER WORLDS PATCH 1.4.1 RELEASE NOTES - October 8th, 2020

Changes/fixes that are included in this patch are as follows:

General:

Fixed some spots on Gorgon where players could become permanently stuck
Improved lipsync animations throughout Peril on Gorgon
Removed a transition on Scylla that loaded an invalid area
Fixed a spot in the Olympus Orbital Pharmaceutical Station where players could become stuck
Fixed an issue where the Employee Benefits Science weapon could be used to resurrect dead companions on SuperNova difficulty
Audio:

Fixed an issue where audio logs could play while on the Pause menu
Fixed an issue where the first line of some dialog sequences wouldn't have audio
Improved audio performance to reduce instances of audio dropping out
Design:

Adjusted spawn conditions on some Gorgon marauder encounters
Fixed an issue where ADA could give out-of-date information about how to get to Stellar Bay
Fixed an issue where Gorgon canid variants would become stuck in behavior loops
Fixed an issue where the Special Delivery Science weapon could sometimes not drop properly
Improved loot drops from Gorgon canid variants
Fixed an issue where players could see incorrect Peril on Gorgon end slides upon completing the game
Quests:

Updated "Makes Space Suits, Won't Travel" to allow for Gorgon marauder armors
Fixed an issue where quest beacons wouldn't update properly under some circumstances when investigating leads in the Sprat Shack
Fixed a duplicate quest beacon during the quest "Kept Secret But Not Forgotten"
Fixed an issue where a quest item for "The Ambrose Intersection" could become permanently stuck in the player's inventory
UI:

Fixed an issue where invalid text would appear in Skill descriptions
Improved text wrapping on Save/Load screen for certain text sizes and aspect ratios
Fixed the "Nietzsche's Reward" Perk not being properly reflected in weapons' damage stats on the Inspect screen
Fixed an issue where Max's Trickshot ability's description erroneously included the "Stun" effect
Improved text wrapping on weapon Inspect screens
Added information to the main menu to reflect when Peril on Gorgon is installed
Added an indicator for Improvised weapons on the Inventory screen
Adjusted text color for damage text for Cold Damage
Fixed inconsistent coloring of adjusted skill values on the Skills screen under certain circumstances
Fixed some audio log UI issues when stopping or restarting the logs at specific points

 

The Outer Worlds Update 1.4 - September 8th, 2020

Changes/fixes that are included in this patch are as follows:

New:

General:

  • Fixed an issue where unique items wouldn't be for sale if the player visited the vendor before reaching a certain level
  • Fixed electric fence states not always persisting when saving and loading
  • Fixed the "Confidence" Perk persisting incorrectly when using certain weapons
  • Fixed a rare issue where the game could soft-lock when reactivating Devil's Peak Station

Design:

  • Fixed an issue where the Robophobia Flaw could persist even when no automechanicals were present
  • Fixed an issue where the player could get trapped in an endless interrogation with certain automechanicals

UI:

  • Added better messaging to the Vendor screen for when the player has insufficient bits
  • Added better messaging for save compatibility on the Load Save menu
  • Fixed an issue with windows incorrectly persisting when the user disconnected a controller
  • Fixed an occasional display issue on the Reputation screen
  • Corrected the controller mapping screen when controls are set to "Lefty"
  • Fixed certain types of Armor Mods being mislabeled on the Workbench screen
  • Adjusted backgrounds of Quest screen to improve text readability
  • Added a description for the "Combat Only" reticle option
  • Fixed a typo in the description of the "Steady Hand" buff
  • Fixed an issue where inputs could stop working after opening the ledger from the pause menu

 

The Outer Worlds Update 1.3 - March 13th, 2020

Top Community Requests:
Added a setting to adjust the size of text throughout most UIs
Updated font colors to improve visibility
Updated NPC corpses to remain interactive even when they have no items to loot
Added support for ultra-wide monitors (loading screens & cinematics)
Added the ability to toggle sprinting so the player can continue moving without holding any buttons
Added functionality to see beacons for inactive quests while viewing maps
Added an option to show the HUD reticle only when aiming down weapon sights

Audio:
Fixed an audio inconsistency with skill button presses

Design:
Fixed an issue where the Extra Paranoid flaw debuff could become permanent after fast-travelling out of a restricted area
Improved the quality of item drops when killing Manti-Queens
Fixed an issue where corpses would consume Adreno from their inventories
Increased the rate of casual clothing items dropping in containers and in townie NPC inventories
Fixed an issue with some SuperNova effects being removed when entering conversations
Fixed the effects of Encumbrance not working correctly with the Confidence Perk
Fixed an issue where the player could become immune to melee damage after dodging through Raptidon spit
Fixed the Level 40 Inspiration unlock not working correctly after level transitions
Fixed an issue that caused players suffering from Hunger, Thirst, or Exhaustion to die instantly when using the Electro-Charged Surface armor mod and equipping a melee weapon

Quests:
Fixed an issue where players could not speak to ADA if they neared the end of the game without any companions

Settings:
Added a setting to invert the X-axis

UI:
Fixed an issue that could cause players to be permanently stuck in the Modding UI at a workbench
Locked doors will now show the name of the corresponding keycard if the player doesn't have the skill or mag-picks required to pick the lock
Fixed the player's level being incorrect in the Vendor UI
Fixed an issue where gamepad users could become permanently stuck in the inventory menu
Fixed an issue that could cause the image of the player to briefly disappear from the inventory screen
Fixed formatting issue with colons in French localization
Fixed the AoE Radius stat on flamethrowers displaying as 0
Fixed an issue with Japanese and Chinese characters not displaying correctly when the language is set to Korean
Fixed an issue with nonfunctional UI prompts when modding items with a single mod slot
Fixed an issue in the Japanese localization of Vending Machine text
Fixed an issue when trying to break down items directly from containers
Added an option to trigger the Idle Camera from the Pause Menu
Fixed the Chromatic Aberration setting not saving
Fixed Adreno not auto-equipping in the Medical Inhaler correctly if the player was completely out
Fixed the tutorial for the Emergency Medical Inhaler repeatedly being marked as Unread

General:
Fixed a rare crash when starting a new game
Fixed a potential crash after using all of your Adreno and picking up more
Fixed an issue causing duplicate stacks of Adreno to persist in the inventory
Fixed a rare crash when transitioning between levels
Fixed an issue where certain delayed events could occur in a new playthrough after being triggered in a previous playthrough
Fixed a rare crash when opening the Inventory
Fixed an issue where players would be instantly killed when fast travelling off of a ladder

Top Community Requests:
Updated the "Large Text Mode" setting to apply to Examinables
Added "Chromatic Aberration" setting to all platforms
Added "Controller Aiming Sensitivity" setting to all platforms
Added "Head Bobbing" setting to all platforms
Added "Field of View" setting to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms
Fixed weapons unholstering when interacting with the environment
Fixed additional cases of companion quests being marked as Botched incorrectly

      Stuttering and inconsistent framepacing is still unbearable in some cases/areas. Tried everything, to Unlocked vs. Locked Framerates ingame and in RTSS, V-Sync off or on both ingame and in Control Panel. G-Sync on or off, too.

      I'm genuinely putting a hold on this until (hopefully) one of the patches contains fixes for performance. It's THAT bad. And apparently on different platforms, too.

        Ultrawide is still completely broken. Screen zooms in too much and the FOV for weapons is completely out of scale. Ultrawide is the future of PC gaming and becoming far more common, so this should be absolutely manditory and just adding it to loading screens and cutscenes isn't even an afterthought.

          Should’ve left the adreno duplicating stacking made the game a lot funner to just sell them and have bits to spend on whatever the games fun without but made it easy lol

            Resolved Issues for Patch 1.1.1.0: Top Community Requests: The game crashing at a specific point when the player has reached Tartarus has been resolved Toggle to increase the font size (found in the UI tab under Settings). Increases font for conversation text, cinematic subtitles, bark subtitles, and terminal text. Audio Players will no longer experience muffled sounds when playing on the PlayStation 4 Design: The Prismatic Hammer has been rebalanced and no longer incorrectly uses the level multiplier as an exponent instead of a multiplier and will no longer do 10s of thousands of points of damage at a higher level. Now deals the damage it should have been dealing all along Quests Existing Botched companion quests will have their status reset to Active allowing the player to add them to a party when leaving the ship in order to un-botch the quests, unless the death occurred prior to unlocking the companion quest Fix for "Radio Free Monarch" where issues would happen when talking to Nayoka while having SAM in your party General: Foliage on the Xbox One now has parity with the foliage on PlayStation 4 The achievement/trophy for "It's Not the Best Choice" will pop correctly
