Augmented Insulation in The Outer Worlds is an Armor Mod. Augmented Insulation grants defense against intensely high temperatures. Armor mods improve and modify the stats of the existing Armor equipped by the player, there are several different kinds of Armor Mods including Skill Kit, Armoring, Utility, and Gadget.

 

The inner surface of the armor is coated with an insulating material proof against intensely high temperatures.
