So if i use a pristine weapon does it become no longer pristine? If so can it be repaired to pristine status,?

I've noticed pristine mods exist, however since they have no durability that can be increased, they seem to offer no added bonus other than increased value. thus regular mods should always be installed and pristine mods be sold, if both are available. Unless there is some invisible stat that we don't know of yet, such as maybe they have a higher % chance of being returned when an item is scrapped or the mod is replaced?
